About Me
Hi! I’m Anna, and I genuinely love public education.
I’ve spent my entire adult life working in and around schools, and I’m excited to use that experience to serve our community.
Professionally, I’m a school social worker with nearly two decades of experience in public education. I hold a Masters in Social Work with a focus on macro-level planning. I have worked across all grade levels, K-12, providing counseling and therapy to students and families, leading crisis response efforts, and supporting teachers and administrators.
Over the past two decades, I’ve coached teachers, principals, and superintendents; built whole-school initiatives focused on positive school culture and climate; developed and improved disciplinary practices, and helped schools build systems to identify and support students’ academic, behavioral, and social emotional needs. Prior to getting my MSW, I worked as an ABA Therapist for children with Level 3 Autism, supporting them at home, at school, and in the community. I also have a strong background in grant writing and management, which can help our district pursue state funding and other opportunities to better support our students.
Personally, I’m proud to call Long Valley home. My husband, our two daughters, and my dad all live together on the mountain. My oldest is in third grade at Flocktown-Kossmann Elementary, and my youngest has one more year at Valley Brook before starting kindergarten. I’m an avid reader and baker, and I volunteer in our community by co-leading my eldest daughter’s Girl Scout Brownie Troop, volunteering with the FKS PTA, and fostering kittens for Eleventh Hour Rescue. I also coordinate neighborhood social events to help our street feel like a tight-knit community. In my spare time, I keep busy with our dog, Rainbow Bunny Taco (can you tell the kids named him?); two cats; six chickens; and whatever variety of bug, frog, or worm my five-year-old has caught for the day.
